I'm Kamea, the maker behind Backroad Spirit. Most people call me Mea or Meezy.
I started this shop in late 2024, but it wasn't until April of 2025 that I discovered silversmithing. From the first moment I picked up a torch, I was hooked, and completely deep dove into the world of metal and fire. What began as a small shop of beaded bracelets and trinkets quickly transformed into something much deeper - I had found a craft that felt like home.
After moving back to California in 2023, following a big breakup, I was in a place where the world felt paused and I had nothing to hold onto. Starting this shop saved me. It gave me a way to see myself again, to sit with myself and to express who I am. What started as a hobby became a journey, one that opened up an entire new world of possibility, creativity and freedom.
Each piece I make is beyond jewelry. It's an offering to reconnect - with nature, with freedom, and with the wild spirit inside of us all. My work is inspired by natural stones, adventure, and the wide-open backroads that remind us there's always more to discover and sometimes that's on the road less traveled.
This business has blossomed out of my love for creating with my hands and my heart. My hope is that every piece I make carries with it a spark of that freedom, a reminder of that resilience, and a little piece of untamed beauty you can take with you wherever you roam.
